Following Hurricane Andrew in 1992, insurance companies began encouraging Florida homeowners to make their homes safer to reduce insurance claims. When making improvements to the home, the insurance companies required homeowners to have a Four Point Insurance Letter completed by a qualified home inspector.
The Four Point Insurance Letter will show the age and condition of the home, as well as if the following systems are updated to current standards and are functioning in good condition:
- Roof Inspection (including at least four photos)
- Electrical Inspection (including photos of panel covers off)
- Heat and Air Conditioning Inspection (including photos of data plates)
- Plumbing Inspection (including photos of sink shutoffs and hot water heaters)
